Work progress

These are print screens of some of my stages through my work.

Here i am trying out different ways of having my page.Making flat plans and doing it on a screen can look compltly different.I tryed to be adventourous with shapes as I know pop magazines like to use circles with writting in it.
Here I have added a layer of white then used the rubber tool to remove the layer around the model to make the image seem more professional. I did however then realise that my background would not be transparent therefore the white background would show on perhaps a blue background on my cover.

Here I have filled in the tittle with yellow as it is symbolic to the word "star" and it gives a young, bright tone to the magazine.

Here I was trying out different colour to use for my magazine.I did originally set out to use this background but then I got other opinions and they felt the colour did not really compliment the image. Therefore I changed the background to a more bolder colour.

editing tittle

I was going to use this image for my front cover but after i had edited it i realised the image was actually fairly dark and did not really match my other images. Therefore I did not use this image.

Here I was testing out different writting to be used for my cover.I decidid on black as i thought it would stand out , however it does not really fit in well with my magazine.I also remember from my research that Top of the pop mainly used bright colours.

Photo editing

Image editing "encompasses the processes of altering images, whether they be digital photographs, traditional analog photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing is known as photo retouching, using tools such as an airbrush to modify photographs, or editing illustrations with any traditional art medium." I have chosen to edit my images to improve the appearence of the models looks such as the "spot healing tool" which removed blemishes.I Also wanted my images to look profesional therefore it would make my magazine look more "up market" , I did this by adding more contrast and deffinition to the images.Overall , I am fairly pleased with my photo editing , I can see faults however such as when I used the magnetic tool ,I have missed parts of the body out.But overall I am happy with how they have turned out .

After.. Here i have used the " unsharp mark " tool to give more contrast the image.I also smoothed her skin to make her appear more celebrity like.I also added a white layer over the image and rubbed out her outline so it would get rid of the background and make the image have a more proffesional look.

Here I have made a mistake and not cropped out the line above the head , this can be easily solved as I could re-crop on photoshop or even paint.

Here on photoshop i have used the "unsharp mask" to give an alternative contrast to my image.I also made her skin smoother by using the skin healing to remove blemishes.I also put a layer of white over the image and rubbed out the model so it appeard to have a white background. This however became tricky when I realised my front cover had different background colours which would make the white show, therefore I made the background transparent on photoshop.

After... For my front cover I made the background tittle and image all on one layer so that I could straight away have it as my front cover and not have to keep adding a tittle everytime.I choce these colours because they represent the pop theme of bright and colourful.I liked the idea of having white as it makes the image blend in more easily and not have any noticeable errors. Also the colours compliment the blue that the model is wearing and also the red/pink tone compliments the bright yellow of the tittle.
