Planning and Evaluation of article

I am going to look at two magazine articles in my chosen genre (pop).I am looking at interviews as I wanted to gain more of a understanding of the different elements that is needed to make a interview .I am going to look at the magazine Top of the pops because it is a pop genre based magazine.I also researched and analysed this magazine at the early days of my coursework.

Magazine 1

The interview uses chatty and informal language to engage the audience more and make them feel more relaxed and not overwelmed by formal writting " Saucy" "Lusted" " Kiss&Tell".The language is also humerous "It's a bit unreal having alot of girls rip your clothes off.I've actually got a couple ripped t-shirts that I've kept as a memorobilia, ha-ha"!"humour is one of the most attractive ways to engadge a audience and makes the magazine feel more relaxed and almost like a friend e.g chatty , youthfull style writting, addressing the reader as "you" , it also makes you want to trust what they say and believe it.I have also noticed that in interviews they put quotes around the page for example "By the time we'd sung 8 tracks,I had eight phone numbers" this gains the readers attention and to want to read more.

Magazine 2
Likewise, this interview is similar to "magazine 1" interview.Chatty and informal language has also been used such as "I'l be god mother to Cheryl's kids" the impact of using " kids" instead of " children" makes the magazine more informal and layed back. This interview also uses humour " lies will always come back and bite you on the bum" humour is a great way of attracting a audience because everyone loves to laugh and to be put in a better mood.

I have learnt from looking at two magazine articles the best way to approach my target audience.Firstly, I must use chatty language such as "Hey Guys , today were interviewing the gorgeous John Fletch" , I will also use informal language such as "wow".I will also use quotes from the interview in bigger writting on the page to attract my audience to read more.I wont use too much writting either and I will include images.

Plans for my magazine article:

Type of article-Interview

Who i will be interviewing-"John Fletch"

Theme-The recent Xfactor winner

How much writting-6/7 questions

Quotes I could put in - "Xfactor has changed my life" , "I've been so busy , I havn't even had time to watch Eastenders" ,"Cheryls more like my best friend than a mentor".

I'm not too sure about planning exactly what I will put because it depends on how much space I have on my page, however some ideas for questions are :

So Fletch ,I bet you've been busy since winning Xfactor , what have you been doing?

Do you still see much of Cheryl?

Which celebs do you aspire to be like?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

Are you going to release a album ?

What type of music are you going to have on your album?

An old paper draft of interview :

This is an outline of what I want to include in my interview, depending how much space allowance there is on the page.I have tryed to use most appropriate language such as " Wow" " Aww" , when I researched Top of the pops I noticed that it mainly used that type of language (informal).
