Drafts Front Cover This is my first draft of my Digipak, the theme that I was going for was the style of Lady Gaga's album "The Fame Monster" which had a horror theme to it which is what I tyred to create with this cover.I decided to use a hospital breathing monitor as the mouth,I did this to be creative and different which is like Lady Gaga's style. Also, I liked this idea as at the end of the curvy lines ,it goes straight. This creates a sense of death which relates to my theme being horror and the album cover being "Pink Eyed Monster". I also decided to use bold and heavy make up to make her look more spooky looking.I feel the cover lacks colour scheme as they are very random colours, therefore if I decided to use this design I will keep to a colour scheme such as red and black. Inside cover: For the inside cover I really wanted to carry on the idea of a horror theme however to keep it simple.I also feel that it should be slightly girly as I choose the colour "Pink" for the tittle Pink Eyed Monster. For the inside I included a personal message " Thankyou for all of your love and support, this album is dedicated to you guys".I felt that by adding a personal message it will make the cover more personal. When I drew this I wasn't too sure on what the colours would be,I wanted to see what the layout was overall to decide what colours would look best.Overall,I think the most suitable colour would be black and pink as the black can relate to the horror theme and the pink can relate to the tittle "Pink Eyed Monster".
Second Draft Front Cover This is my second draft of my front cover.I kept to a fairly bland colour scheme however injected colour into the extreme make up.This is where I experimented with the tittle so I changed it to "Brown Eyed Monster" instead of "Pink Eyed Monster".Looking back I feel the tittle should be made alot bigger and the pose could be more Lady Gaga style. Also the backcover I was looking to do an old fashioned letter style and had a feather pen in the corner.Although the drawing isnt very clear, I feel that the idea will link to the part of the music video where Lady Gaga is reading the suicide letter from her boyfriend.

Inside Cover: The inside cover I made to look pink and girly to contrast with the outside cover.I also really liked the idea of having a personal message in my previous draft, therefore I carried this on.If I choose to do this I would like to use a font which looks handwritten as it would make it appear more personal.

Third Draft - Front Cover

My previous drafts looked fairly bland and colourless, therefore I wanted this cover to look exciting and bright.Especially as my chosen genre is Pop I want it to look fairly cheese. The theme I was going for is the same model but in different styles e.g nerdy/horror/girly/upset , I wanted to do this to show the different fazes teenagers can go through and the different emotions during adolscene.I felt that due to the target audience being dominatly teenagers I would try and appeal to this audience. Here I used the same " Freak like me" to relate to young peoples insecuritys as they are growing up and to inspire to be different.

Inside Cover: As my front and back cover was extremly detailed, I felt that the inside should be kept simple.I decidid to use glitter to represent a effect on photoshop or indesign.I feel looking back I should have made the inside cover slightly more detailed and the background should be black to make the colours stand out alot more.

Girls Aloud Digipak Analysis I have decided to look at the front cover of the tangled up tour by Girls Aloud.I decided to look at Girls Aloud as they are in the same genre (Pop) as my chosen artist Lady Gaga.Firstly the image used is of the group during the concert, they are all in a very strong body posture although they were not posing for the camera. This teases the audience to give a glimpse of what the concert was like, they used very striking images of each band member to make the concert appear more exciting. As they were all in different poses it gives a busy sense to the front cover that everything is happening all at once, again this also gives the impression that the concert was daring and exciting.Furthermore, the image is the main focus of the front cover, this could also be to admire their looks. As they are in the Pop genre, most girls in this catergory are equally looked at for their talent and their appearence. Therefore, it is very important to have their image as the main focus of the cover. The colours used are dominatly black and a purple/pink colour. This colour looks as though an effect has been done to make it look like camera lights. The font is very thin ,this could connotate feminity and the preasure of their body shapes being extremly thin.

Photo shoot for Digipak This image would have looked better if she was looking at the camera.
This image has a few strands of her natural hair coming out of the wig.
I feel she looks too smiley here which isn't really Lady Gaga's style
I quite like this image, although it could be improved by photographing on a blank background, however it can be edited in photoshop.
I feel the brightness here makes the image more visually appealing however I am not keen on the pose.
The model is looking too far away which makes the eyes look out of place here
Although the pose is fairly Lady Gaga style, the lips look overly pouted
I feel the model is too close to the camera here
This image would look better if the image was cropped to remove the underarm
The right eye looks slightly out of place here
This image is slightly blurred
I am really happy with this image,I feel the pose is extremly LadyGaga style and it is a interesting position.
I really like this image, although the background would need to be removed on photoshop.
I like the clear use of eye contact in this image
I feel the face is too covered here

I feel this pose comforms Lady Gaga style but I dont think the angle is right for this pose
I really like the lighting in this image

Fairly dark but I like the pose here and the way the models arm is resting on her head.
I dont really like the way she is looking away here
Although the sunglasses looked good at the time,I dont feel they look appropriate as the camera flash reflects in the glasses.
I like the pose here and lighting is very good.I also like the way the hair is resting on the bed.
Good eye contact,Good lighting and appropriate pose.
I really like this image, I feel the pose and angle fit in extremly well together.
Don't really like the way the model is not making eye contact here

I feel this image is too close and does not have enough of her hair in.
Dont like the way the model is looking away from the camera
I feel this shot could have looked better if it was not face on.If the camera was higher and the model was looking upwards at the camera it would make her eyes look less tierd.
Too far away from the camera here
Good,clear shot here

Good, although some hair on her shoulder would have looked better

Some natural hair coming through the wig

Natural hair coming through the wig
Too smiley
Too Smiley

Really like the pose here and the wig looks very good!
Natural hair coming through here

A Digipak is a "patented style of compact disc or DVD packaging".The style of the digipak normally links to the style of the artist for example lady gaga being retro unique and unexpected.

The video and digipak should be linked so that an audience can see that their is a on going theme and that they are both linked in some sense. For example if it had a horror/love/happy/ colourful theme then this idea would need to be put across in all of the products to make all of them work together and look as though they belong together.
